Burnham Ramblers 1 : 1 Beaconhill Rovers
Captain : Wesley
Player of the week : Jacob
Our second game proved to be frustrating , Beacon Hill
now with their goalkeeper Alfie , Thomas and Alex in defence , a
new mid-field of Daniel and Wesley with Harry and Kieran in
attack. The match was very even with both sides attacking and
defending well. A mid-half substitution of Jacob for Wesley,
eventually followed by some good tackling by Jacob ensured a ball
go through to Kieran , who with a magical chip put Harry through
, who then buried the ball into the Burnham net. 1: 0 to the
Rovers.
Second half Burnham piled on the pressure and had several clear
attacks for which Alex defended and ensured no shots were on goal.
Jacob continued with some excellent tackling and spread the play
by taking the ball wide.
Two minutes to go and a loose ball in front of the Rovers goal
sadly meant a clear shot and a goal for Burnham.
Excellent defending , positional play and attacking crosses
Jacob was awarded the player of the week for his tackling and
vision of looking for space. Well done!

Braintree Town 0 : 0 Beaconhill Rovers
Captain: Daniel
Player of the week: Wesley
New season, new league and new opposition , Our first
league match of this year's campaign saw the boys visit Braintree
Town ( without a goalkeeper)
Well, two volunteers on the day Kieran and Wesley.
With Wesley in goal, the team immediately attacked from the kick
off with the mid-field of Tom and Daniel providing through balls
to Harry and Kieran. Several attempts on goal and some fine saves
by their keeper. The pressure was constant with at least five
corners in the first half. but their goalkeeper saved everything.
The defence of Thomas and Alex ensured their attacks were kept to
a minimum. A substitution of George for Alex and Alistair for
Kieran still ensured we kept their attack at bay.
The Second half Braintree piled on the pressure and several
excellent saves from Wesley and help from the goalpost ensured we
kept a clean sheet.
Excellent defending and positional play from the team
Wesley was awarded the player of the week for his excellent goal
keeping. Well Done!
