On Saturday 10th September 2005 the new sports ground and facilities were officially opened by Sir Trevor Brooking. He was given a tour of the tennis courts, changing rooms and football pitches, and was able to watch all the youth teams in training. Before performing the official ribbon cutting ceremony he gave a brief speech in which he regretted that he was unable to join our Veterans team as he has a bad knee!
We would like to extend our thanks to Sir Trevor for not only opening the ground, but also for bringing a dry spell in the middle of a torrential downpour!
