Three Beacon heads better than Waltham's one
by
Mar 28: The First team stunned Little Waltham on Saturday with two late headed goals following Dan Gardner's earlier equaliser. This win takes Beacon out of the Premier Division's bottom two with over half their league fixtures still to be played. The Reserves couldn't ward off a determined Runwell Hospital side and had to settle for a draw in their Division 4 match. All eyes now turn to Wednesday night and their County Trophy showdown with St.Clere's at Billericay Town FC. The Thirds were left dazed after two own goals in quick succession handed St.Clere's Reserves the initiative in their Division 5 match. Beacon rallied admirably to claw one back but the runaway league leaders ran away winners. The veterans lost a tight game away to Writtle in the Essex Veterans Premier Division while the Ladies lost out to Hutton in their friendly fixture. See team pages for more details.
