	Disability Football Festival in Essex

	Our LD team took part in their first ever 5 a side competition on Saturday at Maldon Town FC. They were one of 12 teams on the day in an event organised jointly by the Essex FA and the Rochford Disability Football Academy. The team comprised Mikey, Nick, Nigel, Len and James (see photo). They have been training together now for about four months. Some of our other players were “lent” to a Chelmsford team to ensure they all got a game! The tournament was a good learning experience for us. Coming up against a range of teams we competed well. We scored some good goals and showed a lot of commitment. Up to twenty players have been attending our coaching sessions run on a Wednesday evening at Bramston astro in Witham. They are making excellent progress and enjoying the experience. It is hoped that a league may soon be established across Essex to enable more teams and players to take part.
