	Youth teams end season on a high

	4 Jun: A great atmosphere surrounded the Youth End of Season Day. The coaches arrived early to set up, and by 09:00 the flags were flying around the 4 5-a-side pitches. The plan after that was for the coaches to have a “day off” so a HUGE thank you to all the Mums and Dads who stepped forward to take on jobs for the day. The players were split into four teams per age group and after a quick test of vexillology (pictured), the teams were named as representatives from the Women’s World Cup; Sweden, N. Korea, France and Brazil. Managers and referees were volunteers on the day, and off we went. Three hours of football sounds like a lot, but it went really quickly with all the kids playing in matches across the field in glorious sunshine. The winning Country was North Korea who won most points across all age groups. Meanwhile the coaches' day off took a more serious turn. The U16’s arrived for their 11-a-side match against the coaches. Kitted out in an attractive shade of Orange they took control early in the game...but maybe we were just toying with them! Old Age and Experience overcome Youthful Enthusiasm with the final score at 6-1.
