UCC find Beacon in unforgiving mood
by
20 / 2 / 2011
19 Feb: With only three weeks passed since the First team's miraculous four-goal comeback against UCC, it seemed as though momentum might be with Beacon for their return trip to the same opposition. This proved to be the case as two more goals from Matt Surridge, making it six in two games against UCC and twenty-one for the season, and a debut strike from Steve Bennet gave the First team a satisfying 3 - 0 away win against the Premier Division's joint third team. With only six points separating ninth from second Beacon will be looking to build on this strong result and move up the table. The Third team were disappointed to come away from their league match against Springfield with nothing to show. Deserving more from a gritty and determined team performance, Beacon's efforts to come back from a first half deficit fell just short. See team pages for more.
